Welcome to Queen's Quarter

An Heirloom Country Estate

The Queen’s Quarter Homestead was originally built more than 120 years ago in the Darling Downs district of Greenmount, before making the remarkable journey to its current home at Gowrie Little Plain. What stands today is the result of a painstaking, no-expense-spared restoration; an undertaking driven as much by affection as ambition. Every effort has been made to honour the home's history while ensuring it offers the comforts expected of modern country living.

Inside, the home unfolds through a series of inviting spaces. Three bedrooms plus a traditional sleepout-come-reading-room provide room to gather, retreat, or simply linger. The master bedroom is a statement in itself—opulent and eccentric, wrapped in bee wallpaper as a subtle nod to Queen’s Quarter (“queen bee”), a motif carried throughout the property’s identity and logo.

The kitchen sits at the heart of the home, fully equipped with stone benchtops, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, and a thoughtfully assembled collection of hand-picked glassware and serving pieces, many antique.
A breakfast table captures the morning light from the east, while the adjoining dining and living spaces encourage long meals and easy conversation.

The main bathroom continues the blend of heritage and modern indulgence, featuring dual remote-operated skylights, a circular bathtub, chandelier and expansive square marble tiles.

Outside, the generous rear verandah extends the living space into the landscape, with comfortable seating, an outdoor dining setting, and views across the surrounding countryside. A barbecue area and firepit invite evenings of conversation beneath the stars.

Throughout the home, every room tells a story. Antique furniture, collected curiosities, original artwork, and one-of-a-kind pieces have been gathered over many years, creating an estate that feels layered, personal, and deliberately distinctive. Nothing has been chosen by accident.

Queen’s Quarter is more than a place to stay. It is a property to be explored slowly; one room, one story, and one treasured detail at a time.
